Join the Columbia Historical Society at its 59th Annual Meeting Celebration on Sunday, April 27, beginning at 2:00 PM.
Guest Speaker: Lucianne Lavin, Ph.D., an anthropologist & archaeologist from The Institute of American Indian Studies. Dr. Lavin is a founding member of the state’s Native American Heritage Advisory Council.
Topic: Healing plants traditionally gathered in the wild by Native Northeastern Peoples, featuring descriptions of their different uses.
Special Dedication: A memorial plaque will be dedicated to Historical Society’s past President Justin Holbrook at the conclusion of her talk. Justin worked closely with Lucianne when creating the Occom Garden planted behind the Moor’s Charity School.
